First load of parts arrived! Full timing belts, water pump, belt rollers, gaskets and what not else. Also a sweet refinished cam tower!

Porsche teardown continues…
Got the head off today and found minimal damage (yay!). So far it looks like two bent valves and no marks on the pistons. Also I snapped some pics of the refinished intake and throttle body.

Yamaha R6 06-08 fork conversion
I got a new set of forks for the Raven – they originally came off an 07 R6, but they seem to fit the ’05 without any problems!

The last toy … $990 1986 Porsche 944
I’m officially done with toys for the year, the last acquisition being an ’86 Porsche 944. The car skipped a tooth on the timing belt and bent some valves and it also needs some minor body work. It came with maintenance records from the mid 90s and tires that look almost brand new!

Lower QP has been replaced in the past, looks like there’s some surface rust near the welds.

Replacement head, sourced locally for $150

Seadoo rebuild with WSM kit
Got the Seadoo running with $180 worth of parts. All it took was a top end rebuild kit from WSM and a $15 cylinder hone from harbor freight. After a minor mishap with the rotary valve timing (apparently carbs aren’t supposed to blow air…) the motor fired right up.

Seadoo update
I got some time to mess with the sea doo today and got the engine out. It turns out the rear piston is completely seized up in the wrist pin and the whole thing won’t even move. Next time I’ll take the rear one out and see if I can finally turn the crank over. Hopefully that’s all that it needs to start up.
On a side note, the motor is actually made in Austria by Rotax and all the nuts and bolts are metric (yay!). I haven’t seen any rust on any of the bolts either – my brother claims they’re stainless steel.

More Toys! 1995 Sea-Doo XP for $180
Well I really couldn’t pass up something that fun for so little money. We’ll see if it starts tomorrow!

The replacement tank arrived mid week and I finally got a minute to bolt it on…

Parts and fairings
I’ve managed to source some parts to get the Raven back in one piece. So far I’ve got most of the fairings off 03 Limited edition along with all the random trim bits $350, headlight $80, radiator $40, fairing/misc bolt set $40 and the timing cover for $24. I’m not totally convinced I’ll go with red flames look, but at least it will let me pass in the salvage inspection.
Here are some pics with the new tail fairing, radiator and red fairings:

Damage Assesment
Last week I got some time to tear the bike down a bit and see what exactly will it be needing. Here’s the fun list:
- Forks with lower triple tree (front wheel is off by couple degrees)
- Tank & Fairings
- Brake master cylinder with reservoir
- Timing cover and a new clutch line bracket
- Upper fairing stay & ducts
- Radiator
